FAQ

    For the full paper submission, there is no strict word limit set by the organizing committee.

    However, if you choose to submit a formal paper, we recommend a length of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 words.

    We also accept submissions in presentation slide format, if that is more suitable for your work.

    How do I submit an abstract for a conference?

    You may submit an abstract for an individual presentation through our submission system. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to limit the number of presentations per presenter.

    If an individual is part of a panel, the panel convener is responsible for submitting all papers and participant details within the panel ; it is the participants' responsibility to send all the required information to the panel convener for input .

    For submission requirements, examples and additional details about submitting an abstract online, please visit the Call for Paper page.

    How many papers can I submit? How many times can I present?

    Presenter registration covers one presentation in principle. The organizing committee may accept additional papers under special circumstances at their discretion.

    Can I present a paper that has been, or will be, presented at another conference?

    We generally accept papers that has been presented elsewhere. However, we recommend submitting a revised version with substantial modifications to both the topics and contents to increase the likelihood of acceptance. Original contributions are required. You may also present work that has been accepted for publication but not yet appeared in print at the time of the symposium. Please contact us for further details.

    Can I co-present a paper with other authors?

    Yes. However, co-presented papers will be given the same time slot (including Q&A) as single author presentation. All presenting authors must register separately for the conference. Presentation time allocations will be announced on the symposium website.

    Are the submission deadlines firm?

    Yes – please refer to the KEY DATES on the ISESEA site for specific submission timelines.

    How can I check the status of my submission?

    You can track your submission status by logging into your account via the submission system.

    I am the first author but can't attend the conference. Can one of my co-authors be the corresponding author?

    The corresponding author need not to be the first author of the paper. The corresponding author is responsible for abstract submission, final paper upload, conference attendance, and paper presentation. Any co-author who agrees to fulfill these responsibilities may serve as the corresponding author.

    Can I submit powerpoint slides and NOT a full paper after abstract was accepted?

    Yes. Submission of full paper to the Symposium Proceedings is optional. Instead, powerpoint slides presented in the symposium with revision are also welcome to be included in the Symposium Proceedings.

    I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend the conference. Should I still submit an abstract?

    We strongly encourage abstract submissions only from those who are committed to attending the conference. If you have uncertainties about attendance, paper completion, or funding, we recommend waiting until next year's conference. The review process requires significant effort from the Organizing Committee, Review Committee, and conference staff in processing, evaluating, and scheduling submissions. For co-authored submissions, please ensure that at least one author can attend and present the work at the conference.

    How will I be notified of my abstract acceptance?

    You will receive a Notification of Acceptance via email once your abstract has been accepted.

    Why was my submission rejected?

    Submissions may be rejected for several reasons, including:

    • Lack of originality or significance to the field;
    • Limited relevance to the symposium themes;
    • Inadequate clarity in writing;
    • Failure to meet the standards required for presentation.

    Can I submit a different paper after receiving acceptance?

    No. Papers are assessed and accepted based on their individual merits. Substituting a final text with a different manuscript is not permitted.

    Can I change the title of my final text after abstract was accepted?

    Note that while your title may change, the content of your presentation must remain consistent with your accepted abstract. You are allowed to overwrite your previous title or paper before going to the reviewing process.
